SUSTAINABLE HOMEWARE OBJECTS ROOTED IN SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN

Norwegian brand Nedre Foss has cultivated a design direction founded in thoughtful, slow living. A curated set of home objects that are intended to be used and equally appreciated as sculptural pieces to enhance the everyday.

Enduring materials like brass, cast iron, wood and glass have been interpreted with both innocence and clean, confident Scandinavian sophistication. Handmade processes are combined with high-spec technology to produce unique works of design.

Nedre Foss was founded in 2009 by award winning duo Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll of design studio Anderssen & Voll. They aspire to create the "Century Product" which will last at least 100 years without any decrease in attractiveness or utility.

The designers are influenced by concerns for longevity, beauty, simplicity and sustainability. Surprising or quirky elements are incorporated with a functional approach to solving design problems in a unique, memorable way.

From an emotional point of view, it is impossible to ensure that an object will stay relevant over the next 100 years. Nevertheless our designers have gone about this task by choosing categories that have already been a part of our collective culture for centuries
