Astep

Astep creates and curates lighting objects that honour and advance the evolution of lighting. Taking lighting in new, innovative directions requires understanding and respect for tradition. With a foundation of experience, future-oriented outlook and passion for lighting design which has been nurtured in the Sarfatti family for three generations, Astep builds on this with new knowledge and an open mind in a continued quest for substance and meaningful design.

The meaning of the company’s name, Astep, indicates the necessary motion of a never-ending journey of evolution. It points to a move towards the creation of something that’s better, more substantial and more worthwhile. This exciting maker represents an admiration for timeless inventions: objects that retain their edge and their capacity to affect our lives, advancing the manner in which we live.

Astep also celebrates the work of both modernist era and contemporary designers who have focused on new technology developments to enhance modern living and carry the tradition of intelligent experimentation.
