Good Form is immensely proud to represent Karimoku Case Study – a brand which connects directly with the spirit of what we do and our desire for good design to be an investment in quality and sustainability. We love each and every object that this pioneering brand is creating, with a strong sense of craftsmanship and reference to its Japanese / Scandinavian heritage.
Äng is in many ways in line with our design philosophy of striking a balance between all the elements that make up a space. Here, our role has been to create a harmonious back drop, where all elements support one another so that the guest feels comfortable and can simply immerse oneself in the experience.
The N-T01 Serving Trolley is inspired by the umbrella and shoe racks by the entrance of Japanese temples and shrines. The ambition was to incorporate many of the existing details from the greater collection into the essence of the design. Thoughtful details are showcased in the finely crafted joinery in contrast colours – a construction that resembles that of the shelving system – as well as a paper braid handle to enhance tactility and create coherency across the collections.
Restaurant Äng is an impressive, pristine greenhouse structure which stands alone in one of Sweden's largest vineyards. With supporting iron beams tucked under the glass surface, it offers a smooth, polishd surface of glass which reflects the lush surroundings. The interior concept is an immersive experience of cuisine and design, with a consistent use of oak, stone, premium textiles and natural materials throughout. It feels like the kind of understated luxury we love from Karimoku with custom designed elements, potted plants and decorative sculptures which add to the sense of stillness and contemplation.
There is a striking parallel between the Michelin chef's approach to the menu and Norm's approach to architecture and design. Both use the surrounding nature but refine and elevate it, adding even more value.
Two new objects which have been released from the Case Study:
The platform style N-CT02 Coffee Table is perfectly proportioned for the Karimoku lounge furniture and features signature cabinetry details like the contrast oak details to the upper corners. It feels like a piece which would easily fit into a home or a commercial setting.
A stunning touch to the restaurant Case Study is the N-T01 Bar Cart. Again in signature oak, the bar cart follows on the design look of the existing shelving design with a square finish look with a rope cord handle.
An extension of the classic Karimoku round club armchair, the N-CC02 Sofa is a two seater sofa designed to have the same character and appeal but with a larger size.
We are delighted to have added the new pieces to our website. Visit the gallery to view the Karimoku Case Study collection and we would love to hear from you if you have any questions about this brand or any commercial enquiries.

It feels like we are leaving the training grounds and finally can step out on the arena. The elegant atmosphere which Norm and Karimoku have created fits the new Äng experience perfectly.
