Innovative Outdoor Designs

There's nothing more refreshing than outdoor dining with friends and family on a warm summer night. Together with al fresco dining, some great table pieces and a few bottles of wine sounds great to us! Pair up this concept with some great outdoor dining furniture like the suite of designs recently produced by designer Tom Fereday and Slovenian maker Rex Kralj take advantage of the strength and lightness of steel with a fully open frame and the option of an added seat cushion.

A Pop of Colour

This phrase, while a little overused, is still relevant to an interior space. Over time the trends for colour in interior spaces has changed dramatically. Lately we are seeing a return to the subdued, warm colours of the 1970s and the bright tones of the 1990s in designs which have a connection to concepts around sustainability or nod to a current agenda.

Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola offers a flexible approach to colour with her rug collection 'Patcha' with a single strong colour, accented by complementary, subtle accents. It's a series which works well with contrast surrounding materials like white or timber in a heritage or contemporary space, adding depth and character. The design has a bohemian, relaxed look which works well with layered textiles or add glamour with metal details.

Outside /Inside

Adding fresh plants to an interior space can enchance our connection to the outside and add to a feeling of natural materials. We love to add a selection of plants to wall shelving unit like Tomado to bring attention to the height of a room and make it seem bigger. Select plants with large, rich green leaves for a tropical look like monstera or a softer tone like eucalyptus for a seaside vibe.

Neutral and Fresh

A smooth and serene space in the summertime enables us to unwind and absorb the light. Refresh your space with natural timber elements complemented by understated neutral tones from the earthy or cool spectrum. Karimoku Case Study brings us a Japandi approach to design with minimal pieces and simple forms complemented by premium textiles. Add to the feel of lightness with woven floor coverings and sheer drapes for an effortless summer look.

Sculptural Objects

We love to enjoy the light falling on an elegant curve of glass or timber and how the light in an interior space feels so bright in the summer months. Embrace and soften the summer light with sculptural forms in beautiful materials like the Knud Faerch Cow Horn Chair or the Alvar Aalto Savoy range of vases.

One must maintain a little bit of summer, even in the middle of winter.
