His collection uses 3D sculpting and printing to turn recycled PLA into lighting with a strong architectural presence. Curves, repeated lines and carefully judged proportions give the material a character of its own. We are drawn to the combination of a contemporary making process and forms that feel familiar enough to live with.
The collection moves between intimate table lamps and larger floor and pendant pieces. It is a useful reminder that character can come from a simple silhouette, and that a new material process can produce something warm and approachable.

Using reductive forms and recycled materials, Cam Barrett creates highly contemporary, architectural lighting pieces. The Claire collection offers impressive scale with an organic shape and mid-century references. This design is crafted from 3D sculpting and printing techniques using 100% recycled PLA material.
Cam works exclusively with recycled PLA, a renewable polymer made from corn and sugarcane, sourced locally from a company that transforms post-industrial food packaging and recycled plastics into high quality PLA filament. It’s a slow, intentional approach to making — one rooted in responsibility and craft.
Finding the right scale
