There is something satisfying about a design you can keep rearranging. A few pieces become a low cluster, a taller composition or an unexpected shape that catches your eye as you pass. At Good Form, that invitation to participate is a large part of Stoff Nagel’s appeal. The object has a recognisable identity, but its final form is yours to discover.
For this collaboration, Stoff Nagel invited Natacha Roché and Mathieu Lodin, the duo behind French studio Nomades, to explore the collection through a series of images. Based in Brittany, their work spans visual identities and spaces. In their conversation with the brand, they describe the pleasure of placing the precise metal forms alongside the hemp, lime, wood and stone used in their renovation.
The brushed chrome pieces make that relationship especially clear. Against warm plaster and dark timber, their gentle sheen picks up the light without overwhelming the room. A bowl, a vase or a stand introduces a different shape to the arrangement. What draws us in is the sense that these objects belong among books, ceramics and favourite furniture, ready to be moved and enjoyed.

Quist: character worth rediscovering
The Quist candleholder brings another personality to the story. Originally launched in the 1970s and now relaunched by Stoff Nagel, it has a strongly textured surface that catches the light along its edges. Repeated across a group, those details give the arrangement an almost architectural rhythm.
We are drawn to designs that can move comfortably between vintage and contemporary interiors, and Quist is a lovely example. In the Nomades photographs, it sits beside timeworn timber, art and ceramics with an ease that makes its original decade feel less important than its character. A design can carry its history and still leave room for your own interpretation.
The recently introduced Quist vase adds another possibility. A single stem or dried leaf changes the outline of a composition, introducing something irregular against the repeated metal forms. It is a small gesture, but one that makes an arrangement feel personal.

A different finish, a different mood
In black chrome, the familiar Nagel form takes on a darker, more graphic presence. Set on a simple pedestal table, its reflective edges stand out against the pale wall. The matching vase extends the composition upwards, while slender candles give it a different rhythm again.
For us, the appeal of this story is how much can change with a few considered choices. Height, spacing and candle colour all affect the result. A low arrangement might suit the length of a sideboard; a taller sculpture can bring attention to a quiet corner. Even a familiar piece can feel new when you give it a little space and a different setting.
