The BMF candle holder is among the most iconic candle holder designs of the 1970s. The graphic candle holder was originally produced by the Nagel company in the late 1960’s, but shortly after its launch it was handed over to the BMF company and produced from 1971 to 1985.
The signature three-legged stackable design is considered a collector’s item in homes around the world – an organic, sculptural object inviting its owner to unfold their creativity in endless expressions. The original Nagel candleholder grew out of a collaboration between Hans Nagel and architect and artist Werner Stoff in the 1960s. Hans Nagel asked Werner Stoff to design a sculptural candleholder with room for three candles. The result became a modern design classic. An elegant tripod form with crisp detailing and a shiny chrome finish defined the design, however it was the modular ability to stack into highly creative sculptures that made it an enduring international success.
