Kristial Vedel Birds by Architectmade

In an effort to bring back to life some of the forgotten musings and concepts of Denmark’s most beloved architects and designers, Architectmade was born. Founded in 2004, the Danish maker is devoted to producing exclusively selected design objects from the golden age of Danish design.

From Finn Juhl, Hans Bolling, and Poul Kjaerholm – it’s an exciting chance to have a small representation of the architect’s vision in your own home.

Designed with Hans Bølling’s characteristic humor, Bobby can be arranged to imitate everything a normal dog can do. From sitting to begging to playing or crawling, his personality shines through, making him a joyful companion for everyday (without having to take him out for a walk!). Bobby was the name of the dog that lived in Bølling’s childhood home in 1931. He has been handcrafted from walnut and features smooth, rounded forms and exaggerated leather ears. Bobby is cute and elegant, making him a charming addition to a desktop or display area.

The people behind Architectmade have a real commitment to design and history. An impressive amount of research that goes into each piece. From spending countless hours scouring through archives, museums and other collections to recover objects deserving of new life, to figuring out how – and whether – it can be reproduced.

Each object, from the cute wooden animals to elegant tableware, is carefully looked over in Denmark to make sure that it is perfect. “The objects can have their own character – those made of wood or stone in particular always have individual patterns,” says CEO Maria Tsomanis, “but each piece must adhere to the exact requirements and materials of the original designs.”

It’s refreshing to know that some of Denmark’s most famous architects also crafted cute, thoughtful and perfectly formed toys and gifts for friends. With their elegant simplicity and refined craftsmanship, these loveable objects serve as a reminder that in today’s trending world, quality is still timeless.
