Korean designer Kwangho Lee has been working with copper since 2008, drawn to its unique properties and creative possibilities. He has explored how its surface transforms over time, reacting to temperature and environmental conditions, blending into this ductile and malleable metal/revealing the material’s ductility and malleability.

Building on his research, The Colour of Copper rug collection captures this organic transformation, translating the accidental beauty of oxidation into a warm, radiant colour palette, meticulously reproduced by expert artisans through a labour-intensive process. Combining threads of Himalayan wool, pure silk and aloe in alternating saturations, they developed a new colour system that mirrors the luminous, ever-changing nature of copper’s surface.

The Maker /

CC-Tapis

Born in France, designed in Milan, and produced in Nepal, cc-tapis offers beautiful hand-crafted rugs from some of the world’s leading artists and designers. Each cc-tapis rug tells a story of tradition, quality and contemporary design. At the centre of these stories is a traditional production process where a group of Tibetan artisans work by hand, refining natural materials, passing down artisanal know-how from generation to generation.

The Designer /

Kwangho Lee

Kwangho Lee lives and works in Seoul, South Korea, having received his bachelor of arts in 2007 from Hongik University, majoring in metal art and design. Making things by hand was a great joy of his as a child, reminding him of his grandfather, a farmer himself, who constantly made daily household goods from natural materials found nearby. Lee appreciated the way he looked at everyday objects and thus began to approach things in similar ways; to give new meaning and function to the most ordinary.
