Gavin Chilcott is an extraordinarily versatile and prolific New Zealand artist whose work embraces different media as the mood takes him. Chilcott has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and Internationally. He has been a recipient of numerous QEII grants and is represented in all major New Zealand Collections.

Dilana has been hand crafting New Zealand's most luxurious rugs for over 35 years. Since opening their Christchurch based Workshop in 1980, the company has successfully collaborated with many leading contemporary artists. The Dilana legacy can be seen in some of the most distinguished homes, commercial buildings, art galleries and museums throughout the world.

This rug has been hand tufted from the finest New Zealand wool at the Dilana workshop in Christchurch.

Artist | Gavin Chilcott

Gavin Chilcott gained prominence in the 1980s as a New Image artist whose elegantly colourful and eclectic paintings referenced fabric patterns, Indian art, interior design and classicism, blurring distinctions of taste and ideologies.

Chilcott is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland (Elam) and is represented in the Auckland Art Gallery collection. His first exhibition was at the Barry Lett Gallery, Auckland, in 1976 and since then he has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and internationally.
